Since causality is a law of nature this poem tells us the consequences of our behavior, and in doing so gives us a choice and hope for a brighter future.
An early Buddhist teaching says: "What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow. Our life is the creation of our mind".
How you treat others is a reflection of your mental state as well as personality.
How you view others is a reflection of how you unconsciously view yourself.

My praise to Tao
Tao is a lazy fuck.
Tao knows.
Tao understands.
Tao does not like to interfere.
Tao is not intelligent.
Tao creates intelligence.
Tao exist on many levels in many dimensions.
Tao is everywhere.

After my feeble attempt to liken Tao(way or path) to God, since I am of the firm belief that God shows up in all of the world religions and philosophies. As an apology I will type one of the chapters from Tao Te Ching, namely chapter 13:
Favor and disgrace are like fear.
Honor and distress are like the self
What does this mean?
Favor debases us.
Afraid when we get it,
Afraid when we lose it.
The self embodies distress.
No self,
No distress.
Respect the world as your self:
The world can be your lodging.
Love the world as your self:
The world can be your trust.
Also chapter 57 is worth noting.
Use the expected to govern the country,
Use surprise to wage war,
Use non-action to win the world.

The more prohibitions and rules,
The poorer people become.

Go with the flow, or as we westerners say, carpe diem (seize the day).
God can not have any needs. Therefore we do not need to pray to God. Therefore we do not need to show submissiveness towards God. To consider oneself God's equal is hubris. What God wants from us is to treat each other kindly, neighbours as well as strangers. This view is best expressed by the "Golden Rule", see Matthew 7:12.
Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself. This is a rather narcissistic message. I would prefer to express it as follows: You shall like your neighbor as much as yourself.
Paradigm shift: Having power and authority is happiness (in the eyes of other's). Having morality is happiness (in your own eyes). Do you want to be right or happy?
If the devil existed he'd be a psychiatrist.
Evolution to a medical doctor is to be able to lick his own ass.
Hydrogen will not be a fuel that is commercially available on a global scale untill the medical profession has been brought down on its knees and taught how to kiss ass properly.
