In the light of recent events one could interpret the Book of Revelation metaphorically in the following way. In doing this interpretation I'm assuming that events does not necessarily take place in the order outlined. Neither do I assume that everything described will take place now or any time in the future. The reason for this circumstantial way of interpreting is based on my and Buddha's conclusion that everything is changing. God has a plan. God has an idea for where we are going, but it's not cut in stone.

I would be the Lamb that looks as though it has been slain.
Could be interpreted as USA.
Could be interpreted as terrorism (Al Qaeda).
Could be interpreted as the 2004 Tsunami.
The Devil could be interpreted as persons with infantil personality.
The beast could be interpreted as the medical profession and the cloned sheep Dolly.
The second beast could be interpreted as all the TV shows promoting the image of medical doctors as good.
The beast that you saw was, and is not. This could mean the individual who became a priest as long as it was the most respected profession, in which case that individual would have had a lot of influence in society. Between 19th and 20th century this individual moved over to another profession that was more respected, the medical profession. This profession is without the influence on society that the church had in past times. Therefore this individual has been rendered harmless. Therefore, was, and is not. In other words the coming of democracy neutralized this individual (on this web site refered to as infantile personality). Or it could mean when this individual lost his physical power over the schizophrenic with the end of lobotomy.
The five kings that has fallen could be Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, and Iraq. It should be noted that Iraq was democratized already in 2005 following the 2003 Iraq war.
The great harlot who sits on many waters supposedly is Babylon, which today would be Al Hillah in Iraq. Babylonia would correspond to todays Iraq and Syria. What is described as Babylon in the text might refer to what we today call Syria.
One can of course reach additional conclusions if one accepts the initial one's. However, the decision to accept this is not mine to make. Because if I were to claim this to be the truth I would behave no better than the Devil. I claim that the truth does not belong to any individual. I claim that the majority knows the truth. The truth becomes what the majority wants. If the above is accepted as the truth than the following is obvious to me.

The Garden of Eden could be interpreted as what God could have created for mankind if He only wanted to do good. However, laying around and eating from the trees and making love as often as you wished does not improve your soul. God want mankind to improve their souls, so therefor He created the Snake (REVELATION 20:2). So the Snake is today the medical doctor, which I have concluded has infantil personality. The person with infantil personality was obviously created to whip mankind into improving their souls. Obviously, if all of this is true the time has come when people with infantil personality will fall into disreputaion, as being ass-kissers.
The story about Noah and the deluge might be God's way of telling us about how and why the dinosaurs were extinct.
