Had you been more versed in the lore of the supernatural, you might have known that the item you have now produced has the power to ward off evil spirits. However, had you been even more versed in the same lore, you might have known that there are beings which delight in constantly breaking and rewriting the very rules that bind other entities like iron fetters. The Chaos Imp before you appears to cower in fear as you boldly step forward, holding the magic charm out before you. But then it grins from ear to ear, waving one finger in a small circle. Suddenly there is something like a rush of air around you, and you stop and shudder involuntarily. What is happening? A ghostly face appears before you, brushing past your face! It is followed by a sucking, sinking sensation as several more pale outlines form around you. But not even the vibrations in the floor beneath you nor the clattering of cutlery all around can prepare you for what happens next. The Chaos Imp has reversed the function of your amulet, turning it into a magnet for every spirit and spectre in the house, and now they all descend on you at the same time. Fortunately for you, the disintegration of your body and soul is practically instantaneous. Your adventure ends here.
