This will be a horribly difficult fight. The monster is constantly trying to snare you with its tentacles and mire you in its acrid slime, while you must dodge back and forth, desperately trying to find some weak spot to strike at. Even if you are not armed with a weapon you don't have to subtract any Skill in this battle, as you can grab one of the heavy candlesticks and swing it over your head (but you cannot carry it with you afterwards). If you have a pistol, you can fire it at the Protoplasmic Sludge before attacking; in this case you will automatically win the first round of combat (but remember that your pistol must then be discarded).

If you win, turn to 96, but if you should lose this battle, turn to 7.
