Roma Museum IMF plans to create a gipsy museum in Malmoe. This would be the first ”real” gipsy museum where only gipsy culture and history would be shown. There are others gipsy museum in some European countries but they are only a part of another museum , like the Etnographical Museum in Krakow , Poland for an example.

Since 1998 IMF has had contact with the Malmoe Museum and with the Council of Culture about creating a gipsy museum to document and to preserve the gipsy history , culture , living , traditions etc.

The gipsy people ( le rom ) ( roma ) , doesn´t know very much about their own history more then what they´ve been told by their parents so a gipsy museum would not only benefit the swedish society but also the gipsy society.
