My Swedish VIC-20

click to see more on SoundClick click to see more on SoundClick

9v model from Jan 1982 fitted with a Swedish keyboard. Pretty rare.

I use this vic together with the vic-1020. It's a real super-vic! My configuration right now:

  • A Swedish keyboard vic-20
  • Fan cooling
  • Vic-1020 6 slot expansion board, now fitted with these four cartridges:
    • 16K RAM set to block 1 and 5 with an external block 5 switch and one read/write switch.
    • 8K RAM cartridge set to block 2.
    • Programmer's aid in block 3
    • Leif Bloomquist's disk utility cartridge also in block 3.
  • 1541 diskdrive (dark grey)
  • MPS 1250 printer or extra 1541-II / 64HDD
  • C2N Tape, old version
  • Tac-2 joystick

It's possible to use commands from for example Programmer's Aid, Buti and the Disk-Util cart at the same time! If I want graphics commands, I can unplug Buti and plug in Super Expander instead. Or Hesmon if I want a monitor... And I will still have one slot free...

My first VIC-20

My first computer. This is the original vic-20 with 9v power supply. As you can see, it's pretty modded. I had problems with this computer from the beginning with fuses blowing and a rectifier desoldering itself because it got overheated. Finally I moved the heat generating components outside and had them inside my Vic-1020 instead... Worked well after that. (Old picture page)

VIC-20 CR

The CR model has a smaller board inside (uses about 3/4 of the space) and uses a 5+9v power supply, just like the C64. (CR means "Cost Reduction".) Has a different vic chip version (the display looks a bit different). This computer has socketed chips. I've made the Commodore logo for it as it was missing. It's also a non-CR case.

My Blue Vic

This is my blue "hot-rod" vic 20. This computer has only soldered chips and a slimmer case.

More Vic-20 stuff

C64

My second computer. Works as a clock and has never failed. But it is quite sun-yellow'ed.... Now with a vic-20 keyboard.

Plus/4

  • My Plus/4 page with a lot of information about this uncommon Commodore. I now have one NTSC Plus/4, one Swedish PAL Plus/4 (and one Swedish Plus/4 with a dead CPU).

C128

In good condition. Looks like new. With Swedish/English keyboard.

C128

Another one. With Swedish/English keyboard.

C128D

A desktop C128 with built-in 1571 diskdrive and 64kb of VDC graphics memory. With German/English keyboard. The German charterset is completely different looking btw... It looks more like the VIC-20 charterset. But the English looks normal. (There is a button to switch between English and German (or Swedish/English on my other C128s)). I have also made a little program for Swedish characters, because this is the 128 I use. Picture page.
