Poems

A poempage. Sometimes we read poems that make you think, smile or to shed a tear. Personally, I like the sad poems the most and this is the page where I put the them for you to read.

The first poem is one that my friend Lena found. She dedicated it to her Leonberger Rubus that died the 17th of September 1998. It is a wonderful poem.

I ONLY WANTED YOU

They say memories are golden,

well maybe that is true

I never wanted memories,

I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you,

you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly.

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place

no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway

and heartache make a lane,

I would walk the path to heaven

and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same.

But as God call us one by one,

the chain will link again.

The next poem is one that my humanmom Jenny wrote when too many of her friends lost their loved ones.

My best friend is resting in my arms

I can feel his coat touching my skin

It used to be warm, but now it is cold

I chose this, did I choose wrong?

I remember the great times we had together

The way you used to look at me

How you licked my tears away when I was sad

I remember your footsteps and the sound of your tail

The noise you made when you drank or ate

Everything is quiet now

I cannot talk to you anymore

I wish I had said everything I wanted before you left

But I can think of a hundred words more

One more hug would mean the world to me

Or to feel your gentle paw in my hand

But it is all over now

I just wish we could meet again

And that my wish someday will come true

Until then, sleep well my friend

I will always miss you
